Energy, Oil & Gas and Petrochemical

O-rings seals and gasket play a critical role in various applications within the energy, oil & gas and petrolchemical industry, ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of equipment and operations.

From exploration and production to refining and transportation, the harsh and demanding environments present unique challenges that require reliable sealing solutions. These challenges include exposure to aggressive chemicals, high-pressure cycles, and extreme variations in temperature, all of which demand materials and designs capable of guaranteeing long-lasting performance without compromising safety.

MCM provides high-quality gaskets, seals, and o-rings for energy, oil & gas and petrolchemical industry. The seals must withstand environmental factors such as temperature fluctuations, vibration, and external pressures while preventing fugitive emissions and minimizing the risk of accidents.

Each artefact is engineered to meet strict international standards, ensuring suitability for both static and dynamic applications, and is designed with a focus on quality

We manufacture o-rings, gaskets and sealing solutions, which are used in energy, oil & gas and petrolchemical applications, offering reliability and safety for:

  • Downstream oil & gas
  • Midstream oil & gas
  • Upstream oil & gas
  • Carbon capture
  • Mechanical seals
  • Valves
  • Pumps
  • Completion and drilling tools

In CO2 application MCM has developed and tested compounds according to RGD (Norsok M-710 / ISO 23936-2) and aging (ISO 23936-2).

For Hydrogen application, MCM has developed and tested FKM, HNBR and EPDM compounds as for RGD (Norsok M-710 / ISO 23936-2), permeation (ISO 2782-1) and ageing (Iso 23936-2) in pure H2.

Materials

We provide a full range of materials to manufacture gaskets, seals and o-rings for energy, oil & gas and petrolchemical industry, suitable to work inextreme conditions according to the most restrictive regulations.

The following are the most commonly used for energy, oil & gas and petrochemical applications:

  • FFKM, evolast®

Characterised by a broad service temperature range from -46 °C to 340 °C, evolast® compounds exhibit remarkable resistance to aggressive chemicals, such as acids, organic and inorganic fluids, ketones, esters, solvents, amines, as well as hot water and steam.

  • FKM

Special compounds for explosive decompression (AED/RGD) ensure reliable performance in extreme conditions. Working within temperature ranges from -60 °C to 250 °C, these materials exhibit good physical properties and excellent chemical resistance.

  • HNBR

Tailored with special compounds to withstand explosive decompression (AED/RGD), exhibits excellent performance within a temperature range of -60 °C to 180 °C. HNBR based compounds have excellent physical properties and are resistant to aggressive chemical environments.

  • AFLAS

A special compound designed to mitigate explosive decompression issues (AED/RGD), this material can work from -20 °C to 230 °C. Its broad chemical resistance includes resistance against bases and H2S, ensuring performance in challenging environments.

  • EPDM

Specifically designed for H2 and CO2 service, with good resistance to steam, ranging from -60 °C up to 150 °C.

  • PTFE

A thermoplastic material with superior chemical resistance, for use in a wide temperature range from -260 °C to +260 °C. Not sensitive to RGD. Often compounded with e.g. carbon or carbon fiber to reduce wear & increase extrusion resistance.

Not limited to the energy, oil & gas and petrolchemical, our high-performance gaskets, o-rings, and seals are designed to meet the demanding requirements of multiple sectors. From Food and Beverage, Automotive, Semiconductor, Aerospace, Aircraft and Marine, to the Chemical Process Industry, MCM delivers tailored sealing solutions that ensure reliability, compliance, and long-lasting performance in even the most critical applications.
